Description:
In the sheet processing industry, but especially the automotive industry,
not only steel but increasingly aluminum and other non-ferrous materials
are used. When loading blanks into presses automatically, feeding
double blanks must be prevented. The UDK10 was specifically developed
for these applications. Up to 255 different parameter sets (types of
materials and / or sheet thicknesses) can be entered into the unit, stored,
and addressed either from the keyboard or a PLC.
The Sensor Switch Box SSB-UDK10 is available as an option to connect
up to four sensors to be activated sequentially. This can be necessary if
sheets are destacked from more than one location (see separate sheet
Sensor Switch Box SSB-UDK10).
Sensor:
The new sensor PW42GS can only be connected to the control unit UDK10. It has approximately
the same performance parameters as the P42GS used for steel and the W42GS used for non-
ferrous materials in the corresponding control units E10, E60 and UDK60.

Function:
The Universal Double Sheet Detector UDK10 allows one-sided double
sheet control of ferrous and non-ferrous materials with only one sensor:
the new PW42GS type. The sensor functions electromagnetically
combined with the eddy current principle.
The measurement is based on evaluating the changes in the electro-
magnetic field and the eddy currents due to the changing sheet thickness.
